Automatic Control Method of A/C Chiller Water Temperature in Compliance with Outside Air Condition

      Disclosed is an automatic control method of air-conditioning
(A/C) chiller water temperature in compliance with outside air
condition for energy saving and labor elimination.

      A/C chiller water temperature requirements  change  depending
on outside air condition.   In general,  two percent of chiller power
consumption can be reduced by increasing centrifugal-chiller-outlet
temperature by one degree of centigrade.  The A/C chiller water
temperature in winter can be set higher than that in summer for
electrical energy saving.

      In a conventional method, by a change of the temperature the
chiller maker's maintenance personnel is required to shift both the
set point of chiller outlet temperature and that of chiller safeguard
against freezing.  Therefore, the method cannot meet a sudden change
of outside air condition.

      Fig .1 shows the new control system consisting of the
followings:

 - Controller(1): the selector of set point of A/C chiller
                  water temperature in compliance with outside
                  air condition
 - Controller(2): A/C chiller water temperature controller
 - Controller(3): Chiller outlet temperature controller
 - Controller(4): Chiller safeguard against freezing, or to
                  stop chiller during lowering inlet water
