Configuration Cables for the IBM 7695 Data Entry Device

Described is a hardware implementation for the IBM 7695 Data
Entry Device that simplifies the cable configurations so as to
consolidate several models into one.

In prior art, five models of the IBM 7695 were required for
attachment to personal computers (PCs) and personal systems (PSs) as
well as the IBM 319x, 347x and 3151 family of terminals.  The concept
described herein provides a means whereby five models of the IBM 7695
are consolidated into one model by providing five different cable
sets that can be plugged into the IBM 7695 from the PCs, PSs, IBM
319x, 347x and 3251 terminals.

A cable set consists of a one meter cable that attaches from
the IBM 7695 to the host terminal/computer and a small adapter jack
that attaches from the IBM 7695 to the keyboard cable.  However,
attaching the IBM 7695 to a 347x or a 3151 terminal will not require
an adapter jack because the required connector is already present on
the IBM 7695.

Fig. 1 show the connector locations when viewed at the rear of
the IBM 7695.  Decoder unit cable connector 1 and decoder unit
keyport 2 are shown at their appropriate locations.  The five cables
that make up a complete set for consolidating the IBM 7695 models
into one model are as follows:
