Abstract

This article describes a Multimedia Exchanger concept which has an exchange function of individual (thermal) characteristics among multimedia fluids comprising more than two kinds of fluids. AIndividual (thermal) characteristic/physical condition of the fluid(s) transfers to other fluid(s) through walls and fins.

      This article describes a Multimedia Exchanger concept which has

fluid(s) transfers to other fluid(s) through walls and fins.

The advantages of this Multimedia Exchanger concept are:

1.  High performance heat transfer in compact mechanical packaging
2.  Wide variation and flexibility in application
3.  Potential contribution for energy saving

Applicable products or heat transfer devices are as follows:

o   Heat Exchanger
o   Condensing water cooler/heater
o   Heat pipe
o   Ozonizer
o   Evaporator

Typical designs are as follows:

o   Multiple tube type            (Sample: Figure 1)
o   Multiple tube and fin type
o   Multiple plate type           (Sample: Figure 2)
o   Multiple plate and fin type
o   Hybrid type                   (Sample: Figure 3)

The following shapes of tube and fin combination are used for
manufacturing the above designs.

  Tube; Normal/Spiral/Corrugate/Fin tube
  Fin;  Normal/Turbulator/Perforate

Fig. 1 shows a multiple tube-type exchanger.  Individual
characteristic/condition of fluid transfers to other fluid or affects
other characteristic/condition via the transfer wall and fin.
