Connector Fan Mount

Disclosed as an effective method that provides fan mount
hardware, field installation flexibility but adds no additional
hardware costs.

As pictured, modification of an Insulation Displacement Cramp
(IDC) connect restraint (1) incorporates fan mounting capabilities.

Anchorage

of the fan is either by screws (2) (Figure) or molded in
snaps (not shown) to the restraint.  Power to the fan comes directly
from modified wires with mating connectors (3) of the attachment
cable.  This fan mounting arrangement concentrates the air flow
directly at the heat source.  It should be noted that the modified
snap-on restraint (1) is reversible depending on device (4) connector
location.  Field installation is accomplished by replacement of
modified restraint with conventional restraint.
