Mechanical Packaging of Dipole Antenna

      Disclosed is the mechanical packaging for a dipole antenna.
This packaging makes for ease of assembly, repairability and protects
the printed wiring board (pwb) and TNC connector.

      In the Figure, the G-10 epoxy tube 1 has rails which aid in
guiding and supporting the pwb assembly.  The copper tubes 3 increase
the surface area of the antenna and have tabs that are soldered to
the pwb and ride within the rails of 1.  Connector housing assembly 4
through 6 encapsulates and protects the TNC hex-nut connector and
semi-rigid cable.  Collar 7 assembles over the connector housing
assembly and threads onto the adapter 2.  The hub 5 is contained
within a counterbored hole of the collar 7 acting as a stop and also
allows the connector housing to rotate independent to the pwb
assembly, thus taking stress off the internal semi-rigid cable and
the center conductor connection of the connector.
