Cleaning System

The disclosed system is composed of an airknife and a capture
plenum that respectively sweeps and removes light contaminants from
moving parts.

In the Figure, a conveyor (1) processes parts (2) from left to
right.  A push-pull cleaning system blows a turbulent flow of air
through an airknife (4) and removes light contaminants such as fiber,
metallic particles, etc. from the parts (2) surface.

Ventilator (6) pulls the contaminated air through the capture
plenum and through collector (5) where contaminants are removed from
the air flow.

This system achieves good cleaning efficiency without touching
the parts with brushes or wipes, without having a wet cleaning
process and finally without having the burden of a controlled
atmosphere.
