Hair cutting member for an electrical shaver

A hair-cutting member for use in an electrical shaver comprises a plurality of cutter elements which are arranged on a common carrier. The hair -cutting member further comprises a corresponding plurality of hair-pulling elements which are each arranged in front of one of the respective cutter elements and are each slideably guided relative to the respective cutter element so as to be moveable relative thereto in order to realize a hair-pulling action on a hair before the hair is cut by the cutter element.

In order to increase the distance over which the hairs are pulled by the hair -pulling elements before being cut, an end portion of each hair-pulling element is provided with an enlarged thickness. The hair-pulling element is manufactured by means of a process of shaping its outline by stamping, etching and/or lasering, followed by a bending process. In order to obtain the thickened end portion, during the process of shaping its outline the hair-pulling element is provided with a tab which, in a following bending process, is bent against the base portion of the end portion of the hair-pulling element.

In order to achieve different thicknesses of the end portion of the hair-pulling element, it is further suggested to bend said tabs in such a way that a certain predefined distance or gap remains between the base portion of the end portion of the hair-pulling element and at least a portion of the tab. By varying said dis...
