Abstract

Circuit breakers, circuit protectors, and switches which are actuated with levers or toggles, are tripped accidentally by bumping or by cables that are routed in front of them. A shield added to the panel that mounts the switch device can protect the lever of the device.

Guard, Switch Protector

      Circuit breakers, circuit protectors, and switches which are
actuated with levers or toggles, are tripped accidentally by bumping
or by cables that are routed in front of them.  A shield added to the
panel that mounts the switch device can protect the lever of the
device.

      In the figure, the switch guard 1 mounts to the panel 2, to
protect the lever of a circuit breaker 3.  The switch guard 1 is
mounted with the same screws 4, that are used to mount the circuit
breaker 3.
