Method for Display of Resource Utilization in Windows Within One Parent Window

This invention describes a method to display and manage
the display of information about a computer's utilization of
resources (i.e., performance information) in windows on a computer
display screen.

                            (Image Omitted)

The invention is a new and novel method to display information
about the performance of a computer's resources. Several windows,
called resource monitors, are used to display several types of
resource data. All the resource monitors are enclosed within one
parent window.

The invention uses data processing terminal window and graphics
functions to display the performance information in the performance
monitors (i.e., windows).  The style in which the performance
information is presented on the display screen is described in the
IBM Systems Application Architecture (SAA*) Common User Access (CUA*)
Advanced Interface Design Guide under the section Multiple-Document
Interface (MDI).

The method allows a user to view multiple groups of related
information in multiple windows simultaneously.  One main window,
called the parent window, contains all the other windows, called
child windows, that display resource utilization information.  The
information is in the form of graphs which display percentage
utilization of a certain computer resource.  The user can choose to
view some or all of the...
