Laminar and Separable Electrical Connections with Multiple Contacts

Disclosed is a bolted connector design for connecting a set of
parallel bus bars, with multiple voltages, to another set of parallel
bus bars.

The bus bar tabs on both sets of buses are spaced such that
they can mate without mechanical interference.  The first set of bus
bars has bolts inserted into holes in them and into steel plates
flanking the tabs.  Each of the these tabs has electrical insulation
attached to one of its sides. The insulation is also bevelled for
smooth mating action. The second set of bus tabs are slotted, the
slots being positioned such that the bolts on the first set of bus
tabs can slide into the slots in the second set of bus tabs.
Electrical connection is made by inserting the two sets of tabs into
each other and tightening the captive bolts to the specified torque.
