Abstract

Disclosed is a method of separating the power connections (1 and 2) from the signal connections (3) on a carrier, e.g., multichip module (MCM) being connected to a planar, such as a printed circuit board (PCB). One connection to the MCM would be for a reference voltage, i.e., ground (2), with the other connection for power (1). This configuration would allow the card designers greater freedom since power connectors must have different specifications than the signal connectors (3). (Image Omitted)

Sip Module Power Termination

Disclosed is a method of separating the power connections
(1 and 2) from the signal connections (3) on a carrier, e.g.,
multichip module (MCM) being connected to a planar, such as a printed
circuit board (PCB).  One connection to the MCM would be for a
reference voltage, i.e., ground (2), with the other connection for
power (1).  This configuration would allow the card designers greater
freedom since power connectors must have different specifications
than the signal connectors (3).
