Mail Pre-fetch and Auto-open

Provided is a technique which allows user mail to be
selectively fetched and opened for users in order to overcome
deficiencies with conventional approaches.

The solution is to provide users with conventional techniques
for mail processing.  In addition, the user is provided with the
following enhancements:
      -    Rule-based algorithms and windows to allow users to
classify mail according to different characteristics.
      -    Rule-based algorithms and windows to further process mail
objects according to classification.

One special type of processing allows objects to be pre-fetched
from server machines and automatically opened, e.g., mail objects are
taken out of the in-basket for the user and automatically opened and
placed on the desktop.

The technique can be extended to include automatic open of mail
items throughout the day with considerations for non-obtrusive
placement.

Unprocessed items remain in the in-basket for conventional
processing.

Users will notice the following benefits: new functionality,
improved usability, reduced worksteps in certain tasks, and improved
productivity.
