Connector Grouper with Compliant Pinned Header

Disclosed is a connector system which comprises a compliant
pinned header and a mating connector grouper with
retention/extraction and blind installation capability.

                            (Image Omitted)

The connector system is comprised of a grouper housing 1 which
houses and contains the base connector pieces 2. The outside profile
of the base connector contains combination retention and keying tabs
which mate with corresponding slots in the housing, thus ensuring
proper assembly and retention.  A faceplate 3 is attached, thus
enclosing the assembly.  Actuation of the connector in and out of the
header 4 is accomplished by a centrally located jack screw 5 and
C-clip 6 which mates with a threaded insert that is integral to the
header.  A handle 7 is attached to the housing to provide for
installations within blind recesses.  Additionally, the handle
contains an internal guidance path for the hex tool used to drive the
jack screw. The cables 8 may be dressed out either side of the
handle.
