OS/2: Control Key with Scroll Bar Generates a SB_MAXX Message

       This article describes new OS/2* Presentation Manager*
scroll bar commands and methods for causing the windowed environment
to generate the commands.  The commands involve movement to the top,
bottom, far left and far right of the displayed information.

      The new scroll bar commands are SB_MAXUP, SB_MAXDOWN,
SB_MAXLEFT and SB_MAXRIGHT.  The up and down commands are used with
vertical scroll bars and the left and right commands are for
horizontal scroll bars. When one of these commands is generated by
the scroll bar control, the application will move the information
under display to the absolute top, bottom, left or right depending on
the control.

      Users generate these commands through the use of the keyboard
control key in tandem with the mouse button.  When the control key is
depressed, a user needs only to single click the mouse button on one
of the scroll bar areas which would normally generate a SB_LINEx or
SB_PAGEx command.  The control key causes the SB_MAXx command to be
generated instead.

      For example, a user wishes to immediately scroll to the bottom
of a document of text.  Rather than paging down or dragging the
slider to the bottom, a user can depress the control key and single
click on the scroll bar anywhere below the slider's position.  The
