Sitfit: A Program to Help Correct Posture at the Terminal

Disclosed is a program for helping to prevent
health-related problems which occur due to improper posture at the
terminal.  The program helps to correct improper posture via
reminders to sit correctly.

This program is written in C using Motif which executes on the
RISC System/6000*.  The program presents a pop-up window to the user
at irregular intervals which reminds users to check their posture.
The user selects from a list, e.g., stiff neck, shoulder and back
tension, lumbar pressure, any problem caused by posture.  This
reminds the users to correct their posture.  The user may also select
to do exercises to relieve the problems that they have selected.  If
the user selects to perform the exercises, pop-up windows appear with
the instructions to relieve the problems which have been selected
(see (*)).

The reminder portion of this program is the main element of
this article.  The exercise portion could be deleted or other
exercises substituted.
