Mechanical Lockout Selector

This mechanical rail/slide assembly used on a 4-Port
Multiprotocol Communications Controller allows selected protocols to
run attached equipment without the human factor of having to monitor
"safe" cable configurations.

                            (Image Omitted)

This rail/slide assembly was designed to attach to an existing
8-port fan-out box.  This invention eliminates the need for special
cable end moldings, thus allowing the customer to connect standard
"off-the shelf cables".

This invention also eliminates the need for switches,
electronics and additional wiring which would have added substantial
cost and impact to the schedule.

Also it eliminates the need for connector covers which could be
misplaced, thus allowing any cable configuration, which would
increase the possibility for damage.
