Pop Up Keyboard

Described is an arrangement which will automatically lower a
keyboard through closing of a slide drawer.

Components consist of a mounting plate (1), keyboard pivot
bracket (2), pivot bracket studs (3), over-center stops (4), spring
pivot studs (5), springs (6), and keyboard (7).

The pivot bracket studs (3) pass through clearance holes
provided in the keyboard pivot bracket (2) and anchor into the
mounting plate (1).  The pivot bracket (2) oscillates within a
limited arc about the axis of the pivot bracket studs (3).  The
limits of the arc are set by the over-center stops (4) and the length
of the groove provided in the inner tabs of the keyboard pivot
bracket (2).  (See Figure 1).  The springs (6) pivot about the studs
(5) provided in the pivot bracket (2) and the mounting plate (1).
The keyboard (7) is located in front of raised tabs (8) provided in
the mounting plate (2).  Provided tenons (not shown) on the underside
of the keyboard (7) slide into acceptance grooves (9) provided by the
pivot bracket (2).  Design requires the pivot bracket (2) to be in
the up position to accept the keyboard tenons into described grooves
(9).  Lowering of the keyboard (down position) is either by manual
CCW rotation or contact by the drawer frame (not shown) on the far
side edges (10) as the drawer closes onto which the mounting plate is
attached.  This arrangement assures the keyboard to be in a locked
down position with the first mov...
