Whole Ceramic Disk Pack

Disclosed is a disk pack design for a hard disk drive in
which all parts including a disk, a spin motor hub, a disk spacer,
and a disk clamp are made of ceramics.

                            (Image Omitted)

Disk substrates made of ceramics are mounted  on a motor hub
made of ceramics. A disk spacer of ceramics is positioned between
disks and the disk and the spacer clamped by a disk clamp of
ceramics.

The advantage of this design is to minimize the deformation of
each part under thermal stress condition and to minimize the shift or
slip of the disk because of the low coefficient of linear thermal
expansion of ceramics.
