128-Bit Streaming Data Procedure for the Micro Channel

       Disclosed below is a protocol to achieve 128-bit
Streaming Data protocol on the Micro Channel*.  The extra pins are
provided by a level D connector.

      The 128-bit Streaming Data Protocol is identical to the 64-bit
Streaming Data Protocol with the addition of a master acknowledgment
signal.  During 128-bit Streaming Data Protocol, the upper 64 bits
are non-multiplexed.  Thus, an early indication from the master of
128-bit Streaming Data Protocol is allowed.  This allows -SD128_ACK
to have the same timings as the +TR32 signal.  The slave's-MSDR128
would have the same timings as the current-MSDR.  With this protocol
(and the added connector), one can provide an extremely high-speed
channel for high-performance I/O devices, while maintaining complete
compatibility with the existing Micro Channel Architecture.
