Disclosed is a data structure of Kana address dictionary for an Optical Character Recognition system. It reflects a tree-structure of address expression. The Kana address dictionary is composed of two files, a prefecture file and a city file. With this structure, a large number of addresses can be stored in files of small space. The structure of this Kana address dictionary improves the performance of post processing.
