Generation of a Local Distribution List from Remote Location Authorization Lists

Communicating with several thousand remotely located
users of a system presents a problem over time.  Distribution lists
become frequently outdated unless they are diligently maintained.
Update information must be maintained daily to reflect the constant
additions and deletions from authorized access lists that control any
number of separate data disks.

This invention allows the system administrator to activate a
program that goes to each remote location's system access
authorization list (which is the latest one available), extract it
and bring it back to the sending location. Further, the invention
then allows for these lists to be trimmed of non-essential
information and automatically inserts the proper electronic mailing
node for each user, based on their location.  This scheme is used to
communicate with the users of an active technical data dissemination
system.  Communications to such users can vary to some or all.
Announcements about system enhancements or the fact that new system
applications have been added, can apply to all users or a specific
set of users or a specific location.  The ability to use the latest
authorized access list as a distribution list brings the level of
communicating with the user community to 100% accuracy.  This
alleviates problems with the receiving of message (or lack thereof)
due to outdated distribution lists.
