Vertical Stand

This article describes a stand for a table-top personal
computer (PC) to be positioned and safely supported in a vertical
orientation for floor mounting.

The stand of this article consists of two polymer pieces
assembled together and installed into a computer system unit.  The
stand provides vertical positioning, giving the user an optional
mounting method, that is, floor-mounting capability.

The vertical stand provides adequate thermal requirements,
positive tilt capability, easy floor movement across any carpet
fabric or style, positive mounting (symmetrically positions the stand
on the unit) and it is easily assembled and removed.  The top of the
stand provides all of the features required to latch and lock the
cover through the air-vent louvers.  The bottom of the stand also
provides the feature (two pivoting tabs) for disassembly.

The vertical mounting capability disclosed herein allows the
freeing up of desk space for other work activities, yet maintains
easy access to the system by the user.

stand.  The intake opening required to adequately cool the system
units is shown at 1.  The latching features are shown at 2.  The
locking feature is shown at 3.
