FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001]   This invention relates generally to service systems and more particularly to, an automated service analysis system for medical devices.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002]   Currently, the On Line Engineer (OLE) or Field Engineer (FE) is provided a set of service tools that is specific to a given medical device type.  The OLE/FE selects the tool based on the type of problem the medical equipment is experiencing and then runs the tool and analyzes the results.  This method results in low productivity as it involves several process steps to be performed by the engineer.
