Abstract

This tool was designed to repair electronic card assemblies at the solder pot without the aid of special supporting tools. Due to connectors extending past the edge of the card, the card cannot be supported by either the edge or the arms of the solder pot. A lip formed in the arm of the solder pot does not extend outwardly a sufficient distance past the connectors to support the card at the edge. With the card uneven it can be damaged from the chimney resting on the low side, or the card may be flooded. This tool clamps to the arm thereby creating a wider lip. The card can now be supported from the edge, so that it will be parallel with the chimney.
