Abstract

This invention discloses SCSI device data transfer start method which is not triggered by host software but triggered by data transfer condition of other devices. Multi-media system handles huge data transfer and those data transfer timing are highly dependent on other device condition. The present method handles data transfer sequence at device side with the conditions set by the host program prior to the data transfer sequence.

Multiple Data Transfer Method in Multi-media

       This invention discloses SCSI device data transfer start
method which is not triggered by host software but triggered by data
transfer condition of other devices.  Multi-media system handles huge
data transfer and those data transfer timing are highly dependent on
other device condition.  The present method handles data transfer
sequence at device side with the conditions set by the host program
prior to the data transfer sequence.

      Fig. 1 shows block diagram in each device.  The interface
monitor is always monitoring other device communication.  If the data
transfer condition met with the initially set one, this device starts
data transfer from/to the another device.

      Fig. 2 shows initially set parameters which define data
transfer sequence triggered by other device operation.  The interface
monitor checks each data transfer source and destination device
addresses, data size to be transferred, etc.  If the condition meets
as predefined one, this device will start initiating interface data
transfer.

      This method enables the host to be free from the consecutive
data transfers among multiple devices.
