Notification Pen

Use of portable notebook computers will be in 'other than
conventional office' settings.  This disclosure enhances prior art to
allow interruption notification while working in any environment.

Imbed in the pen a vibrator which can receive a signal from the
computer.  Prior art suggests that the user can set a reminder and
the pen will vibrate when the reminder comes due.  This disclosure
takes the vibrator pen further to suggest the vibration be used for
any interruption from the terminal.  For example, the signal could be
sent to the pen for notification of incoming mail, process completion
notifications (i.e. File Transfer Complete), or any number of
application notifications from terminal to user.  This will enable
positive notification even in non-office surroundings such as on a
moving airliner.
