Retainer Snap Fastening Method

       Described is a hardware implementation that provides a
retainer snap fastening method to insure positive securing for a
pivoting assembly.

      The fastening method is designed to capture and secure a
retainer assembly to a frame so that alignment pins can interlock a
frame with a locking device.  Fig. 1 is an isometric view of the
frame showing the relationship of bottom alignment pin 1 and spring
latch 2.

      Fig. 2 is an isometric view showing upper alignment pin 3 and
opening 4 for the spring latch.  The design enables the retainer to
be interlocked into the base 90o from the vertical and pivots within
the base angular sheet metal features.  As the retainer pivots to a
vertical position, the pins align and trap the assembly horizontally.
It is then locked and secured to spring latch 2.

      Fig. 3 is an isometric view of the retainer positioned
approximately 45o and interlocked to the bottom of the frame.  Base
angular sheet metal 5 features are shown as related to the frame.
