Abstract

A service is described which will prompt the end user of exactly how long each phone message is in minutes and seconds. This telephone message duration mechanism (TMDM) will be invoked while an incoming message is being received. The TMDM will calculate the duration of the incoming message. It will convert textual time to an audio format and concatenate the audio time at the beginning of each message. When the end user retrieves their messages the TMDM will prompt the end user on the duration of all or just the selected messages.
