Audio Calendar Control

      Many times there is a need for users to not only use electronic
calendars for scheduling, but there is a need to be reminded that a
scheduled event is upcoming.

      In order to allow users to take advantage of the power of
electronic calendar, a user controlled audio-event feature should be
offered.  Users should have the flexibility to associate sounds with
scheduled events.  For example, the user might want a high pitched
triple beep to sound ten minutes before each of his weekly scheduled
department meetings.  He might want a 3-second low-tone to sound five
minutes before his lunch time each day.  This gives the user the
power and flexibility of controlled audio tone pitch, length/time,
and pattern.  A graphical musical note would be displayed next to any
event on the calender where the user has chosen to use audio calendar
control.

      This invention gives users the flexibility and the power to
associate sounds with scheduled calendar events.  This invention
gives hearing-impaired users the ability to choose pitches and
patterns of sounds that they are able to hear, to associate them with
calendar events.  This is good for visually impaired users as well.
This gives the user an alternative method of reminding themselves of
upcoming scheduled events, where a pop-up, or visual message of some
sort may be disruptive to their computing environment. The audio
