Modular Back Panel Heater for Hot Air Rework Tool

A standalone printed circuit board heater that can also
fit into a standard printed circuit board hot air rework tool is
disclosed.  It provides uniform backside heating to the printed
circuit board that may be required by a number of operations.

There are many operations that require a uniform temperature
gradient across a printed circuit board to obtain acceptable results.
The panel heater provides uniform heat that can either be used in a
standalone unit or in commercially available rework tools.  Many of
these tools have backside heat.  However, it usually is not uniform
across the card and, therefore, may cause distortion to occur.  The
panel heater is designed to either sit on a bench top or where a
printed circuit board would fit in a rework tool, and the printed
circuit board would then fit into the panel heater at the same
z-plane as in the printed circuit board holder.
