Abstract

This article describes a method for producing multimedia hyperlinked student study guides. With the advent of massive on-line research libraries and Multimedia, the methods that students use for studying and the way professors give assignments will dramatically change. What is needed is a new methodology for assigning work to students. In addition, students need new methods for rapidly reviewing previously done assignments.

Multimedia Hyperlinked Student Study Guides

      This article describes a method for producing multimedia
hyperlinked student study guides.  With the advent of massive on-line
research libraries and Multimedia, the methods that students use for
studying and the way professors give assignments will dramatically
change.  What is needed is a new methodology for assigning work to
students.  In addition, students need new methods for rapidly
reviewing previously done assignments.

      Provide an educational multimedia product that allows
teachers/professors to produce interactive hyperlink study lists.
These lists can be distributed by computer mail to the students
either on a daily, weekly, monthly or semester basis.  The list can
be in the form of a topic outline or set of notes with highlighted
words or phrases representing hyperlinks.  When studying, the student
may invoke a link by double clicking a mouse button over the
hyperlink marker.  When invoked, the hyperlink will immediately take
the student to a reference text, a textbook page, a video and/or
audio (perhaps even the teacher's voice).  These link destinations
may themselves contain hyperlink markers which will further expand
the students understanding of a topic.

      The student, while studying with this product, may wish to mark
certain links as important.  A single click over a link could be used
