Velocity Sensitive Mouse Buttons

      Velocity sensitive mouse buttons that vary the setting of a
parameter of a task or function based on the speed the mouse button
is depressed.

      The mouse can be used to start a program or function, or to
stop a program or function today by clicking on an icon, menu item,
button, etc.  This is a one dimensional use of a mouse button.

      The mouse buttons could be velocity sensitive (much like some
MIDI keyboards) returning a range of values.

Examples of its usage:

o   The range of values could be used when starting a program or
    function to assign a priority to the task (low, med, high)

o   The range of values could be used when stopping a program or
    function to determine the way the stop should occur (normal
    graceful shutdown vs kill immediately).

o   The range of values could be used in a mouse only password
    sequence.  Example: 2 hard clicks, 1 soft click, 2 medium clicks,
    3 hard clicks.  Useful for handicapped individuals or
    applications where a keyboard is not convenient.

o   The range of values could be used to determine the proper zoom on
    an image (hard click = higher zoom, soft click = low power zoom).

o   The range of values could be used to determine the shade of basic
    color desired in a paint program (hard click = brilliant yellow,
    medium click = yellow, soft click = pale yellow).  Repeat the
