Three-Dimensional Magnetic Devices

Disclosed are methods for fabricating magnetic structures such
as transformers and inductors by utilizing integral three-dimensional
circuitry.

      Three-dimensional circuitry (1) is fabricated on a non-planar
substrate(s); in general, at least one of the substrates would
contain circuitry on a concave surface (2).  These substrates may be
integral to a large substrate (3) or produced as discrete components
(4).  A magnetic core (5) is inserted into the substrate and the
electrical windings are completed by connecting a top planar
substrate (6), or three-dimensional substrate, with appropriate
wiring to the bottom substrate (3,4).
