Gear Scrubber Device to Clean Ring and Sun Gears on Disk Polighing
Machines

      A device to scrub the sun and ring gears of a SPEEDFAM DSM-type
memory disk polishing machine automatically is disclosed.

      As shown in the Figure, a gear scrubber assembly 1 powered by
an air motor drives reciprocating brushes 2.  As the ring gear 3 and
the sun gear 4 pass by the brushes, they are cleaned of debris and
slurry buildup.
