Removal Operator Panel

An operator panel that is quickly and easily removed/installed
(by hand/without tools) for shipping and servicing is disclosed.

In Fig. 1, the operator panel assembly 1 is attached to a round
metal base 2.  The base has three studs 3 that protrude from the
bottom of the base.  The studs are shaped so that they have a
retaining head that fits into a keyhole slot 4 in the top cover.  The
base assembly is rotated and locked into place by three spring clips
6 that are attached to the bottom side of the top cover 5.  If
desired, EMC and ESD grounding contact is made between the cover and
the base by way of a EMC flat gasket 7 between the base and cover.

In Fig. 2, a side view shows the stud in the unlocked position
and, when rotated, how it is locked by the spring being compressed
and held there by spring pressure.
