Multi-User System Busses

Disclosed is an improved method of designing electrical
multi-user busses for, i.e., circuit boards.

It is proposed that the bus be designed such that each of its
nodes has the same electrical characteristics.  For this purpose,
open unterminated lines, as are used in existing CMOS nets to save
power, are avoided by building the net with T-junctions.  Such triple
user transmission line junctions divide the wave traversing the net
during switch operations and lead to more favourable reflection
values.  Undefined unterminated lines are avoided and the reflection
behaviour of the T-junctions is identical in all directions.

A net with a system bus comprising only T-junctions is subject
to less noise and fewer switching delays.
