Graphical User Interface for LAN NetView Fix - The Event Console

      Disclosed is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for displaying
events that are being received by LAN NetView Fix*.

      This disclosure addresses a GUI that will display the following
information to the user:

o   List Number
    The list number is used to indicate the number of events that
    have been sent to the event console since it was started.

o   Important Event Icon
    Any event that is considered important will show the important
    event icon in this column.

o   System Identifier
    This field identifies the system from which the event was
    emitted.

o   Date/Time
    This field indicates the date/time that the event was sent.

o   Resource Class
    This is the class of the resource which emitted the event (e.g.,
    Communications Manager).

o   Event Type
    This is the type of event (e.g., Qualityof-Service-Alarm).

      The actual window containing this information is scrollable so
that a user can scroll back and forth reviewing the events that have
been received.  The list is a single-select list.  This allows the
user to select an entry and use the "Show details..." pushbutton to
see more information related to the selected event.

      As an event is received by LAN NetView Fix and is one that is
to be displayed in the Event Console window (i.e., the user has
control over this via the Fix Event Action Table), it is inserted
into the list...
