Disk Input/Output Station for Rotating Tray Carousel

      An input output station for inserting and removing disks in and
out a library with mulitiple independent rotating carousel trays.

The design of this invention as illustrated in Fig. 1, comprises:

o   A carousel 1 which comprises one or a plurality of independent
    rotating trays 2 with a common center of rotation.  Each tray is
    provided at the outer circumferential part with a plurality of
    loading sections 3 for receiving the recording medium disks 10,
    and between these receiving sections, there is at least one
    opening 4 so that the disk can be passed through, each of the
    loading sections 3 is provided with a cut portion to allow a
    picker to pass through while raising and lowering disk 10.

o   A picker 5 which comprises a gripper 6 laid on the plane parallel
    to the trays and a lifter 7, the gripper must be able to be
    passed through the cut out portion of the loading sections and is
    mounted on top of the lifter, the lifter is used to raise and
    lower the gripper in a direction perpendicular to the trays and
    it must be clear from the outer circumference of the trays.

o   A removable disk container 8 which is located underneath all the
    tray 2 in a plane parallel to the trays during the load/unload
    process and has a cut out portion to allow the picker to pass
    through.

    container receiving section is directly under the tray loading
