Abstract

Disclosed is an electro-photographic printer which has a reel-to-reel type photo-conductor belt (Organic Photo-conductor is generally coated on the belt, so the belt is called "OPC belt" hereafter) instead of types of drum or belt. The OPC belt is taken up to the take-up reel as the same speed as the paper when printing, and, is fed back to the supply reel after printing. Thus, the some area of surface of the OPC belt is multiplly used for printing until the printer quality becomes bad due to any defect on the surface of the OPC belt.

      Disclosed is an electro-photographic printer which has a

generally coated on the belt, so the belt is called "OPC belt"
hereafter) instead of types of drum or belt.  The OPC belt is taken
up to the take-up reel as the same speed as the paper when printing,
and, is fed back to the supply reel after printing.  Thus, the some
area of surface of the OPC belt is multiplly used for printing until
the printer quality becomes bad due to any defect on the surface of
the OPC belt.

The printing process of this invention is as follows (In Fig. 1);

1.  the OPC belt 1 is fed to A-direction (as shown in Fig. 1) by the
    procket wheel 6 as the same speed as the paper 7 which is fed by
    the feed roller 16, and,

2.  is charged around the guide roller 4 by the charging unit 8,

3.  the print image is exposed by any light souce 9 (Laser, LED,
    etc), then,

4.  is developed by the developer 10 using the toner (colored
    powder),

5.  the toned image is transfered to the paper 7 at the transfer
    station 11, then,

6.  the residual toned-image on the OPC belt 1 is erased using the
    discharge unit 12 for the residual electrical charge of toner,
    using the electric eraser 13 for residual electrical charge on
    the OPC belt 1, and the mechanical cleaner 14 for the toner
    removal from the OPC belt 1.
