Abstract

Disclosed is a system which monitors a display part of an Equipment Under Test (EUT) to investigate a degradation of EUT performance for the EUT by a radiated electromagnetic field in radiated electromagnetic susceptibility tests. This system consists of a small CCD camera with shielded cover, shielded cable with ferrite cores, and camera controller. This system can always monitor the display part of the EUT in spite of changing the direction of the EUT, and hardly produces any interference to the electromagnetic field.

Monitoring System in a Radiated Electromagnetic Susceptibility Test

      Disclosed is a system which monitors a display part of an
Equipment Under Test (EUT) to investigate a degradation of EUT
performance for the EUT by a radiated electromagnetic field in
radiated electromagnetic susceptibility tests.  This system consists
of a small CCD camera with shielded cover, shielded cable with
ferrite cores, and camera controller.  This system can always monitor
the display part of the EUT in spite of changing the direction of the
EUT, and hardly produces any interference to the electromagnetic
field.

      The Figure shows the example of this monitoring system.  A
small CCD camera is attached to a table on which is put the EUT (a).
As the camera is generally fixed far from the EUT to avoid
interference to a radiated electromagnetic field, when the direction
of the EUT is changed to expose all sides of the EUT to the
electromagnetic field, the camera can't monitor a display part of the
EUT.  However, this system can always monitor the display part of the
EUT.

      The camera and camera cable (b) are shielded, the sheaths are
grounded (c), and the camera controller (d) is put under a ground
plane to prevent any interference to the monitoring system by the
electromagnetic field.

      The camera cable has attached cores (e) at intervals of about
20 cm to reduce the reflected electromagnetic wave on the camera
