Command Line Interface for Managing User and Group Logon Assignments

Disclosed is a method for managing user and group logon
assignments through the LAN Server Command Line Interface.

The IBM OS/2* LAN Server's NET USER and NET GROUP commands do
not provide support for managing logon assignments for users and
groups.  Several LAN Server customers have expressed concern about
not being able to manage logon assignments through the Command Line
Interface.  All the administration for adding and updating logon
assignments has to be done interactively through the other LAN Server
interfaces.  A LAN administrator needs the capability to create a
batch file for adding and updating logon assignments associated with
users and groups.

Add a new switch "/logon" to the NET USER and NET GROUP
commands for specifying logon assignments.  All the three types of
logon assignments: drive assignments, printer assignments and serial
device assinments; can be specified with the /logon switch.  The
/logon switch can be specified when creating or updating a user
account or a group.  It is ignored when used in conjunction with the
/delete switch.  To delete logon assignments for a specific user or
group, the /logon switch, without any assignments, should be
specified.

The syntax of the NET USER and NET GROUP commands is expanded as
shown below:

NET USER [userID][/logon:x:falias1,1pt1:palias1,com1:salias1]

NET GROUP [groupID] [/logon:x:falias1,1pt1:palias1,com1...
