Association of GUI Windows with 5250/3270 Windows

A Graphical User Interface (GUI) emulator window is mapped into
an ordered list of fields which can then be associated with OS/2*
Presentation Manager* (PM) controls to give easier programming
interface to the emulator window.

Disclosed is a way of associating OS/2 PM controls with 5250
emulation windows so that the state of the 5250 emulation window
would be reflected in a corresponding OS/2 PM window and the state of
the OS/2 window could be reflected on the 5250 emulation window.
This is done in a generic and reusable fashion so that the programmer
only uses one function call to associate a 5250 emulation window with
an OS/2 PM window instead of using many calls.  EHLLAPI is used to
enable communications between the 5250 emulator window and the OS/2
PM window.

The key to the solution is that the 5250 emulator screen
offsets of relevant areas on the 5250 emulation windows are stored as
part of the window information of the OS/2 PM controls.

Because the 5250 screen offsets are stored as window
information in the OS/2s PM controls it is possible to build a
generic function.  The offset information enables one to associate an
OS/2 PM control with a corresponding area on the 5250 window.  In
particular it enables us to determine if the OS/2 PM control is
Hidden, Read-only, Protected, Highlighted, Numeric or Alphanumeric in
the case of an entry field.
