Abstract

The profiling process development that is presently being implemented is named Uni-Fix for short. The Uni-Fix System represents a completely new profiling process, utilizing a "Pinless Routing" technique which allows the use of generic panel tooling holes for panel positioning. This in turn eliminates the need for a unique fixture for each part number. Another key feature is the use of high force clamping along he panel periphery. Because of the fact that the panel tooling pins are "Soft Tooled" by the router spindles, and the pins being taper and taper diamond, the panel positioning is very accurate. Another feature is the programming methodology which involves the use of multiple pass cutting to reduce the load on the panel being machined.
