Abstract

A process was developed for the efficient removal of lap soldered electrical connectors from electronic assemblies. The connectors were mechanically spring loaded to a holding fixture which was passed through a vapor phase soldering system. When all of the lap soldered solder joints reflowed during the process, the spring loaded tooling removed the connectors which were salvaged for reuse.
