Abstract

In the system which has the multiple display devices such as LCD monitor that will be connected to HOST-PC, each display device will usually has display buffer. For example this system structure will be used in the case that the full motion video is required to be displayed on the multiple display devices. But, in the prior art each display device usually has CPU, so that they can communicate with HOST-PC. In this invention, disclosed is the display device which has display adapter, system BUS interface of HOST-PC, and local memory in the display device side, and this display device does not have CPU system. The keyboard can be also attached in this display device. The local memory will be used for keyboard data buffer which contains the key code that was input by the operator sitting near the display device.

      In the system which has the multiple display devices such as
LCD monitor that will be connected to HOST-PC, each display device
will usually has display buffer.   For example this system structure
will be used in the case that the full motion video is required to be
displayed on the multiple display devices.  But, in the prior art
each display device usually has CPU, so that they can communicate
with HOST-PC.  In this invention, disclosed is the display device
which has display adapter, system BUS interface of HOST-PC, and local
memory in the display device side, and this display device does not
have CPU system.  The keyboard can be also attached in this display
device.  The local memory will be used for keyboard data buffer which
contains the key code that was input by the operator sitting near the
display device.  HOST-PC will be periodically polling into the local
memory to get the keyboard scan code which is input through the
keyboard.  By this structure of the display device, HOST-PC can
communicate with the operator who is sitting near the display device
& keyboard and far from the HOST-PC, and also HOST-PC can control the
screen of each display device based on the information from the
operator.
