Universal Card Retainer

Disclosed is a supporting device for circuit cards that
utilizes a pin with a snap-on retainer to hold the card in a defined
location within the book packages.

A pin is inserted through a hole in the circuit card and the
plastic retainer locks the card in place.

The split section at the top of the retainer expands over the
end of the pin and snaps into a groove to lock the retainer to the
pin.

The retainer has two axial spring sections that bias the card
against a land area on the pin, holding the card at the correct
height.  The axial springs make the retainer adaptable to a wide
range of card thicknesses (Figure).
