Sheet Metal Logic Cage

      Disclosed is a sheet metal logic cage for stand-alone, or
double-sided assembly.

      As shown in the Figure, the top and bottom guide rails 1 and 2
are similar, or identical, sheet-metal stampings.  Raisl 1, 2 provide
circuit card guidance as they plug into a backpanel (not shown).

Airflow openings 10 in the rails provide for circuit card cooling.

      Electromagnetic (EMC) shielding at the cage top was provided by
the shield 6 welded, or fit, to the sideplates 8 and the rails 1,2.
The shield is spaced off the rails to lower the cage pressure drop.

      The plenum 7 slides in between the sideplates 8 during
assembly.  This plenum directs air from the front to the back cage in
the double-sided configuration, or to a blower/fan in a stand-alone
situation.  The interfaces have been designed to provide both an air
seal and an EMC seal.

      To provide for selective circuit card placement, key slots 3
are punched in the middle of the card latch 4.  The other way cards
are keyed is by having features 9 on the guides 5 which can be bent
out to prevent card packaging features from passing.
