Customizable License Compliance Mechanism

      This disclosure describes a mechanism that provides greater
flexibility and control to software purchasers in the automation of
their license conformance policies.  This mechanism allows a customer
to

1.  define the conformance criteria based on the terms and conditions
    of a product;

2.  track and enforce the license agreement based on the conformance
    criteria the customer has defined for a product; and

3.  decide whether to enable or disable license enforcement for a
    product.

      This disclosure describes a license compliance mechanism that

    are identified to the license compliance mechanism.

3.  When the product is executed on any machine in the customer shop,
    the license compliance mechanism obtains control, loads the DLL
    and calls the entry point within the DLL to decide whether the
