Abstract

Disclosed is a plastic housing for the notebook PC. In case of notebook PC thin-wall (approximately 1mm or so) housing molded by using an injection molding method, by virtue of establishing a lot of ribs on the surface of molding product, and also establishing many gates which are narrower than the width of the ribs, it is possible to finish the high quality products disappearing gate marks and textures. So, the appearance dignity of the product improves.

      Disclosed is a plastic housing for the notebook PC.  In case of
notebook PC thin-wall (approximately 1mm or so) housing molded by
using an injection molding method, by virtue of establishing a lot of
ribs on the surface of molding product, and also establishing many
gates which are narrower than the width of the ribs, it is possible
to finish the high quality products disappearing gate marks and
textures.  So, the appearance dignity of the product improves.

      Establish ribs such as optional length, width, height and
numbers respectively on the surface of the thin-wall notebook PC
housing as depicted in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.  By means of CAE simulation
of resin flow balance, it is possible establish gates on the ribs
with optional location.  It should be noted that the gates are
narrower than the width of the ribs.

      This method is very useful to mold thin-wall light-weight
notebook PC housing for thermoplastics.  In addition, this method is
also useful to PDA housing.
