Two Directional Slide Disengagement Mechanism for Cash Drawer Removal

Described is a hardware implementation to provide a two
directional slide disengagement mechanism for cash drawer removal
purposes.

In prior art, cash drawers, as used in retail establishments to
hold cash receipts, were screwed into a retaining housing.  This
often caused servicing difficulties due to their limited access.  So
as to facilitate periodic removal of the cash drawer, a two
directional slide disengagement mechanism is provided.

Fig. 1 shows a side view of cash drawer 10 attached to slide
mechanism 11 and extended from cover 12 as it is positioned onto
counter top 13.  Details of the slide disengagement mechanism are
shown in Fig.  2.  Slide 11 and release mechanism 14 are positioned
as a stop for slide 11.  When release lever 15 is pulled to the left,
the mechanism will clear slide stop 16.  This will enable cash drawer
10 to be removed.

When cash drawer 10 is returned for insertion into its cover,
lever 15 is again moved to enable lever 15 to clear slide stop 16.
As long as lever 15 is not pulled to its release position, slide stop
16 will stop the left horizontal motion of cash drawer 10.
